Old landfill, new challenges

Client: Fred Thomas Drive Investments Limited

Vaughan’s client wanted to develop a multistorey parking building on a site already occupied by two office buildings. The catch? This was the site of a former landfill which meant there were challenging ground conditions.  Riley Consultants provided the technical expertise to deal with environmental, geotechnical and civil engineering issues, while John Wardle (architect) designed a building that blends in with, and complements, the existing buildings.   Vaughan’s role was to coordinate the various inputs, prepare a resource consent application and expedite its processing.
